Epiretinal Membrane
- Epiretinal membranes are scar tissue that forms on the central part of the retina called the macula.
- They can occur with increasing age and can also be caused by inflammation, diabetes or trauma.
- Common symptoms include blurred vision and distortion where lines can appear disjointed or letters in a word may be missing.
- Epiretinal membranes can be removed during day surgery to improve symptoms.
